6-11 September, 2015: A Series of seminars on “Science in Ancient India” organised in Madya Pradesh
Breakthrough Science Society, Madya Pradesh State Chapter organised Science Seminars at different places in the state from Sept 6 to 11, 2015. On 6th Sept, a seminar was organised in Guna district. A good number of students from different Institutions in the city participated in the program. Shri. Chanchal Ghosh, All India Secretariat Member of BSS, was the main speaker. He explained the course of development of science in ancient India from Indus valley civilization to the Vedic period and post Vedic periods. He also showed that there was a decline in science after 10th century AD. Quoting Acharya PC Ray, he explained how Casteism played an important role in the decline of science in India. At the end of the talk there was a question hour session in which students asked several questions on different topics of science and a lively discussion followed. For details, Click Here
