5 April: a lecture on global warming was organized by the Breakthrough Science Society, Jharkhand Chapter at Jamshedpur Workers' College. Dr. P. B. Tiwary, H.O.D of Chemistry of the same college presided over the meeting. Dr. A. Ali of the Karim City College presented the keynote address. Dr. Soumitro Banerjee, General Secretary of the BSS, was the main speaker. Among the other speakers were Prof. Nazrul Islam, Mr. S.K. Sinha, and Mr. Kashav. Around 125 participants attended the programme from different schools and colleges from all parts of Jharkhand.
